This hotel is basically in the country, so we slept like babies. It's a 12-min. walk from the Bhaktapur city gate, which was great. Even though the road between Bhaktapur and the airport/Kathmandu/Patan is really bad, we preferred to spend the time and taxi fare to travel to visit Kath/Patan while staying at the Planet Hotel, away from the smog and city crush. The staff were great, very responsive to whatever we needed, the Italian-style pizza was wonderful, the garden is peaceful, and the room was large and airy. Planet doesn't have the standard or amenities of a classy international hotel, but it was fine and the value cannot be beat. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Thanks to Francesco and the boys for a great stay!
I had a relaxing time and the food was great...the pizza was delicious!
I was spoiled by the attention from the staff and the help I've had to plan my trek.
The place is quiet and very clean....just like home.
A place to remember.

We had a so good time in the Planet Hotel that I feel myself obliged, in my honour, to write down a positive opinion about this hotel. We took two rooms for a week the last month. Rooms and bathrooms were large, lighted and cleaned and the food was excellent!

The staff careful and ready to accomplish their service at the best.
We thank Francesco, the owner, and the staff for their kind hospitality and wish them all the best for their activity.

• Liked — The cleanliness, the dining, hospitality and kindness of the people
• Disliked — the lack of electricity from time to time in the evenings, but it's that way all throughout Nepal. I suggest a generator, and they bought it after I suggest. It shows that how they are sincere about guest.

We stayed at the Planet Bhaktapur Hotel for 5 nights, from the 10 to the 15th of April 2007. The Hotel is just out of the centre of Bhaktapur, only 30 minutes by car from the KTM airport. A new palace, built in the local style, with plenty of comfort. The garden and the internal patio covered with grass are a wonderful place where to rest after a day in Bhaktapur and the Valley. The restaurant offers delicious Nepali dishes and, if you are interested, delicous Italian food too, as the owner of the place is Italian.
As for the rooms, they are huge, well furnished and with very functional bathrooms. Last but not least, a roof terrace offers great views of the Valley during the day and of the stars during the night. But the plus of the Hotel is the service. Francesco, the owner, will help you to visit the Valley and, if you want, will organize day trips to several places in and out of Kathmandu. As he knows the region very well he can suggest you to visit places where only local people live. For those who consider Kathmandu too noisy and polluted as a base to visit the Valley, this is a great alternative, as all the main places in and out of KTM can be reached in short time, either by bus or by car. Last, but not least, we especially enjoyed Bhaktapur, a town 'out of time', where tourists from KTM arrive only late in the morning. Therefore, sleeping in Bhaktapur we had the town without tourists for long hours, a real plus in our journey.

trovare francesco ed i suoi ragazzi ha dato al nostro viaggio un sapore particolare.
al planet sei in famiglia, tutti ti coccolano, le stanze sono pulite ed accoglienti, francesco è prezioso per i suoi consigli e la sua compagnia, i ragazzi (ai quali lui sta dando una casa, una famiglia ed un lavoro) sono educati, cari ed affettuosi.
il menu si sceglie insieme, ogni giorno con possibilità che vanno dalla cucina italiana ad un'ottima cucina nepali.
soggiornare lontano dal caos di katmandu è rilassante.
i prezzi sono accettabilissimi, capisci che nessuno cerca di depredarti e questo è piacevole

insomma, se andate in nepal, soggiornate al planet!
starete bene ed aiuterete francesco e la sua meravigliosa famiglia

Un'accoglianza straordinaria,i servizi sono molto buoni rispetto a tutto quello che potete cercare nella capitale e dintorni.La fantastica atmosfera di pace e tranquillità è affiancata dalla totale disponibilità e premura verso i clienti dell'albergo da parte di tutto il personale,a cominciare dai proprietari.La struttura è immersa nel verde(centro raggiungibile in pochi minuti) e le stanze sono notevolmente spaziose.

Siamo partiti alla volta del Nepal, prenotando solo l'aereo e 2 notti a KTM. Poi a Patan incontriamo quelli che si riveleranno essere gli unici 2 italiani incontrati in Nepal, che entusiasti ci suggeriscono di spostarci a Bhaktapur in questo albergho gestito da una piccola "famiglia". Ed eccoci il giorno dopo a cogliere questo consiglio, e trovarci a ringraziare (magari attraverso quete righe) gli amici che ce l'hanno dato.
L'albergho è senz'altro al di sopra della media, dal punto di vista della pulizia e dell'organizzazione, ma l'aspetto che più mi sento di voler pubblicizzare è l'atmosfera, la sensazione che lì in quelle mura il Nepal si sia fuso con l'Italia. Si respira, affetto, curiosità, e ci si sente privilegiati perchè si ha un posto d'onore sulla città e sulla valle in generale. Passare una serata sulla terrazza, con una bella tazza di tè fumante, condividendo esperienze e itinerari, con Francesco (uno dei proprietari), o gustarsi una cenetta che ritengo essere stata la migliore di tutta la vacanza, o ancora scambiare 2 chiacchere e molte risate con i ragazzi che lì lavorano, beh penso che per noi sia stata proprio una grande fortuna!

L'hotel è davvero carino, pulito e dotato di alcuni confort di
base che fa sempre piacere avere a disposizione. Francesco, il padrone, è persona squisita e disponibilissima.
E' inoltre un profondo
conoscitore del NEPAL, al punto tale che ci siamo affidati a lui nella organizzazione dei tours nella valle di Katmandu.
L'hotel è inoltre (e per noi Italiani soprattutto !!!) dotato
di un ottimo ristorante, dove è possibile assaggiare le specialità
Nepalesi, ma dove non manca mai un piatto di sani e ottimi spaghetti
!!!!!! Nazionalisti è ??
